no.26 リプロダクション編 ボリス・ジョンソン英首相Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Remark on the Coronavirus Global Response
こんにちは！本日もリスニング日和ですね！
今回のリスニング日和は、英国のボリス・ジョンソン首相の発言です。今回も新型コロナウィルス関連。最近それしかニュースがないのですみません。日本も参加した主要国首脳のテレビ会議冒頭での挨拶を使ってトレーニングしましょう。ジョンソン首相は特徴的な言い回しが多く、そういう発言があると“Johnsonianジョンソンっぽいよね”などと言われるほどです。今回はフリースピーチではなく用意された原稿を読んでいます。一言一言力強く、歯切れよく、耳に残る話し方。文章は簡潔なほうではありませんが、とても分かりやすいです。分詞構文で～ingを使って文章を続けるやり方は、しまりのないしゃべりになりがちですがジョンソン首相のようにリズムよく使えると効果的＆便利です。参考になりますね。

準備：ヘッドホンをつける。自分の声を録音するレコーダー。 （英文スクリプトと日本語訳は一番最後にあります。必要に応じプリントアウトして下さい。）
①Warming-up Shadowing
スクリプトは見ないでシャドーイング。録音は不要。 英語音声を再生し、聞こえてきた音をしっかり声を出して正確に発音する。激しい運動の前の準備体操です。
②Short Reproduction
まずは文章を短く切ってリプロダクションをしましょう。必要ならスクリプトを確認しながら。録音は不要です。
・ネイティブ英語音声を/のところまで再生し、聞こえた英語をしっかり発声してリピートする。
・一語一句同じでなくても、意味が同じなら別の表現を使ってもよいが、自分のスピーキングが正しい文法になっているか自信がない場合は一語一句同じ表現を使うことをオススメします。
・スクリプトはなるべく見ない。何と言ったか忘れたら、もう1度音声を再生して確かめる。（それでもだめなら、スクリプトをチラ見して確認する程度にする。）
まずは、この程度の短さでリプロダクションに挑戦しましょう。最初の部分を使って説明します。残りも最初は短めに切ってやってみましょう。

次は1、２文ずつリプロダクションをしていきます。必要ならスクリプトを確認しながら。自分の声を録音する。英語の構文がどうなっているか、意識して聞き、意味を理解していくようにする。ネイティブ感覚を身につける上で重要なポイントである、to, of, by, など小さな言葉の使い方も真似して身につけて。

And through Gavi, the global vaccine alliance, we are also helping the world’s poorest countries cope with the virus.I look forward to welcoming many of you to Gavi’s Global Vaccine Summit which the UK is hosting on 4th June. When we do find a vaccine, it’s vital that we are able to distribute it to everyone who needs it.
Countries and pharmaceutical companies will need to work together with an approach that defies the usual ways of operating.We’ll need innovative partnerships like the one between AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford.
And we’ll need a truly global effort – because no one country, and no one pharmaceutical company, will be able to do this alone. The race to discover the vaccine to defeat this virus is not a competition between countries, but the most urgent shared endeavour of our lifetimes.It’s humanity against the virus.
