no.52リプロダクション編 リズ・トラス 英首相就任スピーチ Liz Truss’ First Speech as the New UK Prime Minister
こんにちは！本日もリスニング日和ですね！
今回のリスニング日和は、９月にイギリス新首相に就任したリズ・トラス氏の就任演説です。前のボリス・ジョンソンさんという癖強めの方がスキャンダル続きで首相と保守党の代表を辞めることになり、保守党代表戦をやって、トラスさんが勝利しました。トラスさんはスコットランドのバルモラル城に滞在中のエリザベス女王に謁見し、組閣要請invitation to form a governmentをいただき、受託してaccept、晴れて首相に就任しました。
“政策がみえてこない”と批判を受けていた頃の演説ですが、普通に分かりやすく、綺麗。それが一番です。外相時代にニュースに出てきても、話が分かりやすく、通訳達を困らせることはありませんでした。短い文章なので、意味が明確だし、単刀直入に話が伝わります。ノンネイティブが真似をしやすい文型ばかりで、実践しやすいと思いますので、がんばってくださいね。

準備：ヘッドホンをつける。自分の声を録音するレコーダー。 （英文スクリプトと日本語訳は一番最後にあります。必要に応じプリントアウトして下さい。）
今回は冒頭から2分弱を使って練習します。
①Warming-up Shadowing 録音なし
スクリプトは見ないでシャドーイングしましょう。録音は不要です。 英語音声を再生し、聞こえてきた音をしっかり声を出して正確に発音します。激しい運動の前の準備体操です。
②Short Reproduction 録音なし
まずは文章を短く切ってリプロダクションをしましょう。必要ならスクリプトを確認しながら。録音は不要です。
・ネイティブ英語音声を/のところまで再生し、聞こえた英語をしっかり発声してリピートします。
・一語一句同じでなくても、意味が同じなら別の表現を使ってもよいです。自分のスピーキングが正しい文法になっているか自信がない場合はオウム返しの方が安心。
・あれ今何て言った？？という時は、もう1度音声を再生して確かめるか、それでもだめなら、スクリプトをチラ見して確認を。
